Initial Discussion: 15 minutes
Our in-person design services cater to clients across Australia. The process commences with a phone conversation, during which we delve into your design needs and discuss how our services can assist you.

Consultation 60 - 90 minutes

Inclusions
- 60-90 mins of designer’s time
- A detailed summary of what was discussed in he form of a ‘design proposal’
- The ‘design proposal’ will outline & cost the associated design fees to achieve your design goals
Exclusions
- Specifications or selection of furniture
- Mood board
- Plans or design ideas
Small Project DIY
Small Project Based (DIY) is ideally suited to the scope of a standard 2-bedroom apartment with
open plan living area or, for example, only the living space in a 3–4 bedroom home. This option
would suit someone who is willing to coordinate their own purchases and progress the project at
their own pace. The Inside Story team will provide you with a framework to move forward with
confidence.
Inclusions
- Initial consultation 60 mins
- Design presentation meeting in the studio or online 60 mins (1)
- Electronic mood board – this is a visualisation of final concept.
- 2 x 30min follow-up ‘in studio’ or ‘online’ meetings to answer questions or provide additional guidance.
Exclusions
- Project management.
- Detailed floor plans, joinery plans, individual room specifications or final finishes.
- Accessory and artwork selection.
- Revisions to the mood board.
- Purchasing of items or communication with suppliers external to Inside Story.
- Additional design time (this can be purchased if needed)
Consultation (per hour)
Block of 5 @ $250 p/h in studio or online.
- On site hours charged at $300 per hour.
- Book and pay online in blocks of 5 hours ($1250 per block).
- Valid for 12 months from purchase date.
- Hourly rate is billed in 15min increments.
- Unscheduled phone calls & showroom visits will be billed at hourly rate

Frequently Asked Questions
Are you obligated to buy our products? No, you are not obligated, however we will not specify any products that are not currently in our stable of highly recommended brands. If you wish to purchase products independently, you are welcome to do so at your own risk.
Do we retain commission on substitute products that you source yourself? No, we do not. Throughout the design process we endeavour to find the best options for the most attractive price. We have long standing relationships with hundreds of suppliers. Achieving the highest calibre outcome by supplying quality products is what our client base have come to appreciate and expect. We rarely need to source substitute products to fulfill the client brief.
How long are the design hours valid for with my purchase of an Interior Design plan? Design hours that were purchased with an expiry date must be used prior to the expiry date. This will be clearly stated in your customised Design Brief. Projects typically have a 6- or 12-month time frame for use, this is to keep the momentum of the project flowing and maintain the relevance of quotes and ETAs. Expired design hours are considered to have been forfeited. They are not able to be redeemed for cash or refunded.
What if I do not like what you suggest? This is an unusual situation. Our initial consultation is an opportunity for both parties to outline aesthetic preferences and design direction. We work across a multitude of design principles and styles. We are confident that we can interpret what you are wanting to achieve in your space. Occasionally we will need to fine tune elements within the design package. However, we do ask that if we have a concise budget to work to, that the client approaches the project with an appreciation that there may be an element of compromise required when considering the selections.
